About Project

Track the spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak, set your location, and track new cases, deaths, recoveries, and more in real-time. This is a multifunctional mobile application designed and developed by Cayman Ko, Chloe Jung, and Christian Hombrebueno.

What I did

Developing
A Mobile UI

My roles for this project consisted of project planning, designing the UI for the dashboard, and front-end development for the home and preferences page. This combined expertise in HTML, CSS, and PHP, as well as leveraging Onsen UI, an open-source framework for hybrid app development.

Challenges.

As with all projects we ran into many challenges throughout the development process. For one, our application pulls data from the Covid19 API which went down on numerous occasions throughout the project. We also utilize local storage to allow the user to set their country, for this to work with our data the user needs to capitalize on their input and accounts for one of the currently known issues.

Conclusion.

From start to finish this project was a blast and provided a great learning experience. It allowed the discovery of coding in a team environment via GitHub and great practice with new frameworks and integration of the API's available.
